The Sd.Kfz. 9, commonly known as the 18-ton FAMO, was a German heavy half-track used during World War II for towing large artillery, tanks, and other heavy equipment. Powered by a 12-cylinder engine, the FAMO was capable of hauling loads up to 18 tons across rugged terrain, making it invaluable for logistical support on the battlefield. Its robust, tracked design allowed it to navigate through mud, snow, and rough roads, while its high towing capacity made it essential for moving oversized weaponry like the 88mm gun and the Panzer IV. The FAMO was also used in effectively transporting tanks with the use of a SD.AD.116 22-Ton Trailer.
